After I published the first issue of Skin Two, our friends all wanted to get involved and we sort of found ourselves producing a second issue, on a wave of support and momentum. This time, we had a proper cover photo, taken by a top photographer called Peter Ashworth, who slogged away all day and refused to even let me pay for the processing – a nice man and still a friend.

The cover models were Beverley and Gill, successful pop music journalists, and page 2 featured Tina Williams, wearing our own ‘Skin Two Dress.’ The nightlife section featured Maitresse, which was a continuation of the original Skin Two club – the name was changed after the club founder was ‘exposed’ in the News of the World. Plus ca change…
Page 12 features an interview with a professional dominatrix, Mistress Clare. There were fewer pro doms then and Clare was a star of the scene. She lives in sunny Spain now, but we occasionally see her in London.
On page 15, there’s a feature on the American bondage magazines of the ‘fifties, written by Tony Mitchell, one of the first Skin Two clubbers, who later spent many years on the magazine.
We’d enjoyed producing issue 2 and I even registered a limited company – so issue 3 beckoned…
