Another night to remember is the fetish conga through the streets of Bournemouth – see the photo on page 6. The police sat in their panda car chuckling, as a line of rubber-clad pervs danced through the streets of the sleepy retirement resort.
Grace Lau was very into photographing transvestites at that time and she writes entertainingly about them. Grace also took some interesting images in my dungeon – one of the best equipped fully underground private dungeon in that part of North Hackney.
There’s a 2-page feature by comic book artist Melinda Gebbie (who later married legendary author Alan Moore and produced the 3-volume graphic novel ‘Lost Girls’ with him) and there’s fiction by Mirada Raven.
A lot of new enthusiasts were getting into bondage (as it were) and we published a feature on safety that still makes sense. There’s photography in surrealist style from Alva Bernadine and illustration by the fabulous Linda Brodie. (I still drink my tea from a Linda Brodie fetish mug.) This was a great issue…
